What is AUTOPHAGY (aw-TAH-fuh-jee)? The word itself breaks down to AUTO - Self + PHAGY - Eating, Digesting.

The White Blood Cells that are my favorite to talk about are the MACROPHAGES!

Macrophage, pronounced MA-kroh-fayj, a type of white blood cell that surrounds and kills microorganisms, removes dead cells, and stimulates the action of other immune system cells.

They are MAGICAL! When there’s a bump (pimple, zit, wart—the names are irrelevant) on your face, arm, hand, finger, etc., Macrophages are at work. They have corralled the foreign invaders + toxic material to sequester them in an alcove, where they can destroy & digest whatever should not be. A macrophage is by its nature malleable. It is able to adapt to any tissue, able to ingest most any sort of dead cell or foreign intruder, from bacteria to viruses to parasites.

What does ALL of this say to ME? I have EVERYTHING I need. Infinite Intelligence made sure to equip each and every organism with what it needs to not only survive, but to THRIVE! And I am ONE with the ALL.

In 2016 Dr. Ohsumi changed the fasting landscape when he won a Nobel prize for his work on autophagy. Autophagy is a process that helps your cells “take out the garbage”, removing damaged cells in order to generate newer, healthier cells. It’s something a healthy body does naturally, to promote healing and overall well being. 

How to stimulate autophagy (how I do it)

  • Autophagy Fasting/Intermittent Fasting- fasting from approximate 7:00pm to 11:00am the following day.

  • HIIT training

  • Hydrotherapy

  • Quality sleep

  • Coffee 

  • Cacao 

  • Powerphenols like circumin, berberine, green tea and citrus bergamot found in Earl Grey tea

Benefits of Autophagy

  • Enhanced immune function and immune strength (while autophagy dysfunction downregulates your immune system)

  • Creation of new, healthy cells

  • Increased detection and clearing infections, pathogens, viruses, bacteria

  • Removing toxic proteins from cells

  • Help regulating a cytokine storm 

  • Improved cognitive function

  • More energy to mitochondria

  • Protecting the nervous system

From the National Library of Medicine (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7351063/), “As a healthy practice, calorie restriction in the form of intermittent fasting (IF) in several clinical settings has been reported to promote several health benefits, including priming of the immune response. This dietary restriction also activates autophagy, a cell surveillance system that boosts up immunity. With these prevailing significance in priming host defense, IF could be a potential strategy amid this outbreak to fighting off SARS-CoV-2 infection.”
